Shovelhead update!

Today was a good day, thanks to some very special friends of mine. You know who you are! Hello!
I hand built a headlight bracket out of a couple of spacers papa had stashed away. I coped em, ground em, and mig'd em together. After some over/under thinking, I got the bracket looking somewhat cool and welded it to my lower tree. Did some grinding, filing, and dremel'ing and made her look a bit more presentable. It might be a little crooked, but hey, fuck it...so am I.
To my friends: you guys made this day worth a shit. Thanks! Also, the action photos were taken by George "I know my shit" Perry.

Tony's sign shop update!

Sup dawgs. So, this weekend, I once again was able to help my buddy Tony "big ol sausage" Morelli. I helped him get rid of some pesky old beers he's had in the fridge for a bit, and I also helped him with a bunch of produce. Broccoli specifically.
What I really did, was help him get a few tractor seats cleaned up and ready to put up in his shop. One was pretty cracked and fucked up, but with some "what the fuck?'s" and some mig work, we got them figured out.
Tony did a shitload of sanding, grinding, and painting on some countertops and was able to check a couple thing off of the list.
Evening came and Tony's spectacular wife, Ashley twisted my arm into staying for dinner. Ooooooooooook! I was not mad at that! Dinner consisted of a roast and the fabled egg noooodles! Killer. Thanks Ashley!
Awesome day with good friends. I'm stoked that I could be of service.
Thanks for taking care of me, guys!

Shovelhead update!

So..this Thursday was particularly awesome! Hello!
Patrice and I stopped in to have a look at my motor. Mr. Kafton is working his magic and should be done soon.
After some irritation, welding, and cussing a bunch, myself and a few shopnight buddies got my ratchet top removed from my tranny..not that it's fucked up..suggestions were made to have a gander at the internals before my motor gets back. I don't want to have a fresh motor and shit for a transmission. Pulled the top, crossed my fingers, and peered in! Good news, the gears look awesome. This is especially cool because, I can't afford to rebuild a motor AND transmission. When the high fives and sneak attack hugs on papa had died down, we decided that throwing a set of seals at this thing would be in my best interest. A full set is eminent and in my near future.
All in all, a VERY good day. I didn't get a lot done, but the day started and ended well. Thanks everyone!

Tony's sign shop!

So yeah...change of pace! This past Monday, I had the opportunity to help out a very good buddy of mine. Tony "dang that's huge!" Morelli needed some assistance out at his new shop in lodi. I used the grinder for HOURS hand swirling all of the aluminum baseboards for the entire shop. I think we did somewhere around 200 feet total! Tony has a very keen eye for style and it appears that he planned this out well. The baseboards look fuckin great! My opinion.. The blue and gray paint scheme really looks good with the swirled aluminum. Good eye Tone!
Anyhow, it's not moto related, but it IS homeboy related. And I can dig that!

Shovelhead update!

Another week of small steps towards the ultimate goal!  Pat and I stopped by Dave Kafton's place to check in on my motor, that thing is looking killer! I'm sure it's gonna rule shit when Dave is all done. Kafton is a master of motor sorcery! He's going a bit different route with a bunch of parkerizing and paint, and I am not mad at that! FUCK YES.
Anyhoo, i'm down to a bunch of nitty gritty bullshit that needs to get done before the motor comes back..I finished all the grinding and clean up on the brackets that George and I handcrafted to perfection. Threw a little primer on em and blasted some low gloss rattle can to seal the deal.
George, being the rad motherfucker he is, was so kind as to haul my bike back to his shop to finish the tig work on my sissy bar. I can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks George! You have a pair of hugs waiting for you.
All in all, good shopnight, got to hang with the boys and get a bit done. Fuck yeah.
Random pictures: engage! (good job timmo!)
